In the morning:
We will pick you from the hotel you staying in Bangkok and our first stop will be the Maeklong Railway Market nicknamed as Talat Rom Hup, meaning the “umbrella pulldown market”. What makes the market special is that it is centered on the Maeklong Railway’s track. Whenever a train approaches, the awnings and shop fronts are moved back from the rails, to be replaced once the train has passed. Then the vendors move their goods back onto the tracks and continue as normal until the next train arrives. Next we will visit the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, consists of a maze of narrow canals. Female traders are often wearing traditional clothes with wide-brimmed straw hats and using Sampans (small wooden boats) to sell their items. These boats are often full of vegetables and colorful fruits that are photogenic. A roof was built for the market so that it could be operated every day and all day. We will ride on the channels by a private rowing boat while exploring the local canal life before the midday.
We will visit Chinatown and out first stop Yaowarat Market has a long history from the reign of King Rama V. It is a community of Chinese people and considering as the business district for finance and banking too. There are full of thriving gold shops and therefore received the nickname “Golden Road”. Other than that it’s one of ideal place for food tasting and the best Chinese restaurants in Bangkok are located in here. The little alleyways and roads are a foodie’s paradise. Next we will visit Sampheng Market This is the place where we can find a million things at affordable prices (specially when you are buying in a bulk). It’s a both wholesale and retail market and for the decades, nothing changed a much and there you may experience the authenticity of Thai culture. Next we will Pahurat Market, the largest fabric market in Bangkok. It’s nicknamed as the mini India and you will find people bargaining, lots of stores, restaurants, pubs and many more. You may find famous Indian snacks such as Samosa, and sweets here. Finally, we will walk through the Thai Silk market, old Bangkok-style shopping center has numerous shops. It is the best place to buy Thai Silk fabric and cloths.
