What to Expect
We will pick you from the hotel you staying in Kandy or suburbs and our first stop will be Pidurangala rock, located just 2.5 km north to the world heritage: Rock fortress Sigiriya. Pidurangala rock is offering the most panoramic views of Sigiriya and thanks to the trend of growing Instagrammers who have found this site, it is famous as the most scenic spots in the region now. You will enjoy the precious views from the top of Pidurangala and next we will reach Sigiriya to see the other perspective of the surroundings. The world heritage: Rock fortress Sigiriya, the ancient kingdom considering as the 8th wonder in the world built by King Kassapa. This masterpiece is nearly 200 meters high and according to the ancient Sri Lankan chronicles, the site was selected by King Kassapa for his new capital in 477–495 AD. He built his palace on the top of the rock and decorated its sides with colorful frescoes. You may explore the gratify made by visitors in the ancient times and also the arts made by artists. Next, you will reach the Pelvehera cultural village and there you will taste the traditional, authenticate lunch made by local villagers. You will able to experience the traditional gastronomy of authentic Sri Lankan foods. As a bonus, you will enjoy a relaxing carbon neutral paddle boat ride on the village lake prior to our next stop: the royal cave temple (optional visit). It’s a world heritage and considering the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers are 160m over than the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions such as statues and paintings are over five caves. In the end, we will drop you back to Kandy or the suburbs along with the amazing memories grabbed throughout this precious day..

Upon selection of Sigiriya rock as the secure location to build his palace, the king is said to have relocated the Buddhist monks who were occupying the cave complex at Sigiriya Rock to a new monastery in Pidurangala, presently known as Pidurangala viharaya.
  • Sigiriya rock fortressSigiriya or Sinhagiri is an ancient rock fortress located in the northern Matale District near the town of Dambulla in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. It is a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock approximately 180 meters high. According to the ancient Sri Lankan chronicle the Culavamsa, this area was a large forest, then after storms and landslides it became a hill and was selected by King Kashyapa (477–495 AD) for his new capital.
  • Cave temple Dambulla (optional visit)Dambulla cave temple also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla is a World Heritage Site (1991) in Sri Lanka. It is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka which contains a total of 153 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings and four statues of gods and goddesses. Prehistoric Sri Lankans would have lived in these cave complexes before the arrival of Buddhism in Sri Lanka as there are burial sites with human skeletons about 2700 years old in this area, at Ibbankatuwa near the Dambulla cave complexes.

Can you drop me to Sigiriya or Dambulla or suburbs instead of returning back to Colombo?

Yes of course. We can facilitate that at no additional costs.

How much I need to bring for the sightseeing entrance fees?

Pidurangala: Rs 1000.00

Sigiriya: $30 per person (standard ticket), $15 (for SAARC passport holders)

Cave temple Dambulla: Rs 1500.00

What should I bring with me?

Since we are visiting temples, pls bring a cloth to cover shoulders and below the knee (if you are wearing sleeveless or shorts).

For SAARC passport holders: To purchase the entrance fee for Sigiriya at the special rate applies for SAARC nationalities, please make sure you have your passport with you.

What if I may not able to travel due to significant global event / force majeure?

In the events affected by covid-19, travel restrictions imposed between countries, provinces or between any other specific borders, a full refund will be issued regardless to the standard cancellation policy.
